Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Educational Opportunities

For workers employed in residential care and acute care settings,  and other non-healthcare industry workers. 

There are many educational opportunities specifically designed to improve IPC knowledge for staff working within industry and healthcare settings of all types. The tables below, though not exhaustive, provide information and links to the most relevant and readily available resources.

Infection prevention and control – advanced education modules

A suite of ten IPC modules including: IPC orientation, principles of IPC, risk management, microbiology and multi drug resistant organisms, clean and safe health service environments, preventing and managing occupational exposures, surveillance and quality improvement, epidemiology and outbreak prevention and management, HCW screening and immunisation, reusable medical devices and renovation, repairs, and redevelopment risk management.

Hand Hygiene Modules

The training is hosted on the Alis learning information system learning.agedarequality.gov.au

Based on the COVID-19 Infection Control Online Training Modules.

Alis accounts are currently free of charge for all approved aged care providers and employees of approved providers.

IPC Lead Nurses must complete this training.
