Type 1 User Groups
Type 1 participants and Type 2 sites participating in the Surgical Site Infection module are also welcome to
attend Type 1 User Groups when relevant
topics are being discussed. Information on User Groups is available in the Type 1 area (as per link) or disseminated in the
VICNISS eBulletin and News page.
Type 1 Workshops
VICNISS regularly holds Education Workshops as an introduction to new infection control staff
participating in VICNISS including information on VICNISS surveillance reports interpretation. Find out about future
workshop details and past evaluations of workshops for Type 1 surveillance.
Online Education Modules
Primarily developed for Type 2 Surveillance participants, the purpose of the Learning Modules is to
provide an alternative educational resource for health professionals involved in infection surveillance. It is one of many
educational strategies designed by VICNISS.
These Learning Modules are now available along with multiple choice exercises and answers, in a slightly different format
than they were originally developed. The most obvious change is that they no longer keep a record of each participant's progress or score,
however, you are advised if the answer you have chosen is correct or incorrect and why.
Also provided is a page of useful education resources, including links to other sites.
