Welcome... to VICNISS Online Education

The purpose of the VICNISS Online Learning Modules is to provide an online educational resource for health professionals involved in infection surveillance. It is one of many educational strategies designed by VICNISS.

This program is self directed, allowing you to set your own pace, chose which module(s) you are interested in. The site consists of a number of modules for you to choose from. Each module contains several learning activities and opportunities for you to consolidate your learning.

We hope these modules are useful and welcome all feedback!

This online package is an initiative of the VICNISS Coordinating Centre. We aim to support you, the Infection Control Consultant, in collecting valuable data relating to hospital-acquired infections.

VICNISS education is designed to cater for adult learners, acknowledging different learning styles and preferences and incorporating a combination of traditional and non-traditional approaches. The aim is to give you flexible and sustainable education in a variety of user-friendly modern formats.

Currently VICNISS offers a choice of face to face training via workshops, informal visits, further readings and activities via its general web page, and access to the VICNISS User Group. Web-based education is another alternative, particularly developed with rural infection control practitioners in mind.
